Cobblestone Farm was the perfect scene for this wedding. The day being a bit overcast some had concern over whether it would rain. To us the scene being set was near perfection. Cobblestone Farm being a museum and wedding venue means each piece has its place. From the small barn that still houses animals to the farm house on the property. As for a wedding at Cobblestone Farm that means the grounds are well kept but slightly untouched. There are animals present and some even may decide to walk down the aisle (see in the post below). Although it’s not a large hall with a booming sound system Cobblestone Farm is warming with historic charm and elegance.
We got to know Carla and Liz a while back over some snacks and drinks at Zingerman’s Deli. It was a warmer spring day, for us not them as they had recently moved to Arizona. We talked about life, wedding plans, and got to know each other a little more. Hearing about all their plans really struck a chord with us. Nothing flashy or grandiose, not that anything is wrong those, but that is not Carla and Liz. Everything was done with subtlety. So watching Cobblestone Farm transform with slight details like the cactus wearing glasses, to the back of the programs detail the tremendous court ruling each was unique to them.
Something we always encourage. It’s your wedding. Enjoy it how you would like. From minor details to the overall fell, telling your story should be the goal. So when we heard how Carla and Liz were going to have the wedding of their dreams, in the town they met and grew to know each other so well our hearts skip a little beat. That opens up to us photographing not just another event, but them. Seeing everything from tears of joy and happiness to the slightest smile.
Everything carried the weight of the day. Effortlessly moving forward. In a musical like cadence there was rhythm. There was celebration and there was life.
